Job Description:

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR, SOUTH EAST ASIA

Reporting to the Commercial Leader, you will be part of the regional leadership team, supervising teams totaling 15 professionals that provide support to the Production, Development, and Exploration groups in the South East Asia region and the international Business Development team. You will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements for the sale and transport of hydrocarbons, assessing product markets, and managing commercial issues as assets transition through exploration/appraisal/development/operations.

You will be key commercial contact for the Global and Regional leadership teams and serve as the liaison for E&P commercial matters with the international crude marketing and trading division. This role is the primary commercial contact for the SE Asia Production and Development VP's and their leadership teams, and serves as the E&P liaison on commercial and export with the International Crude Marketing and Trading Division. You will review and negotiate production sharing contracts, gas and LPG sales agreements, joint ventures, unitization, facility, processing, gathering, and transportation contracts and will be supported by Legal, Tax, and subsurface teams. You will be the focal point for the international Business Development and New Ventures teams, you will help in analyzing market and operational conditions that impact asset acquisition and exploration economics, and help to identify, scope, and evaluate new business opportunities.

You will also be responsible for staff development and for growing the capabilities, competency, and expertise of the Commercial Function. You will also be responsible for budgets and have approval authority for expenditures.

You would have about 10 years of business development and commercial responsibilities in E&P, with working knowledge of E&P and commercial contracts, with strong understanding of geopolitical trends and cultures. You work collaboratively with different stakeholders in multiple locations and have strong network in the industry. You would have strong negotiation skills, with solid understanding risks and benefits. You would have built strong commercial teams, policies and processes, with good understanding of international best practices. You would have past involvements in projects and have solid understanding of parameters affecting cost, quality and time.

A strong technical Degree and a MBA qualification would be preferred.
