Position that they are seeking to fill: Senior Business Process Manager (Business Compliance)
SUMMARY
Reporting to the CFO, this position will coordinate audit requests for external auditors, as well as participate in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and process improvement projects.
The role will expose the candidate to all areas of E&P Global Finance. This role requires a team player with good organization, communication and computer skills; a sound understanding of accounting and controls; and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
" Coordinate the quarterly, interim, year-end and statutory audit requests and monitor outstanding and completed items
" Review and assess audit support submitted from E&P Global Finance and determine if further action or explanation is required
" Acting liaison with external auditors regarding daily audit issues
" Interact with management, process owners and finance personnel to obtain an understanding of business processes and controls
" Assist in documenting internal controls and developing test plans
" Participate in the testing and walkthrough of controls and document findings
" Maintain the monthly and quarterly closing procedures sign-off database
" Deliver training and presentations to E&P Global Finance
" Participate in lean and six-sigma projects to improve processes and controls

EXPERIENCE
" 3-4 years of progressive E&P Oil & Gas industry experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
" Ability to work with and understand E&P financial operations is essential.
" Understanding of complex integrated business and financial systems.
" Strong computer skills, including SAP, Hyperion, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
" Team oriented individual that can work independently.
" Ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced changing environment.
" Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels; good team player; ability to exhibit energy, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook.
" Attention to detail and commitment to functional excellence.
" Strong verbal and writing communication skills.

PLUSES
" Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley act of 2002.
" Knowledge of Process Improvement methodology (Six Sigma or LEAN).

EDUCATION/TRAINING
" BBA/BS in Accounting required
" CPA or CIA certification required or sitting for exam preferred
