Job Description:
The organization we represent is a world class wood flooring company that owns an integrated plant in the northern region. They are also expanding the production capacity of the existing plants to meet with rising global demand. The organization is part of an American Group of Companies which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, employs 36,000 people, and has a turnover of UE7.5 billion. The client offers a full range of carpets, ceramic tiles, laminates, wood, natural stone, vinyl, rugs, and other interior products for export market. The organization boasts of a culture that drives entrepreneurship, accountability, open communication, respect and trust, collaboration and result-driven. The Malaysian plants have been in operations since 1968, and were acquired by the organization in 2007 as part of its aggressive development plans in the Asia region.
The Talent & OD Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with the management team in building employee and organizational excellence through organizational development and talent management including acquisition and retention, training and development, efficient rewards and remuneration program and, leadership and employee engagement. You will be the focal person representing the Company in its talent management initiative, from the point of attraction to retention, including developing operational policies, systems, criteria, tools and protocols that are designed to attract, develop, evaluate and retain top notch talents. Positioning the organization as an employer of choice, you will lead recruitment activities, interview and selection process, on-boarding and familiarization process and facilitating employee communications, performance management and succession planning, in the organization. In alignment with global practices and the regional expansion strategy, you will lead change management initiatives in the organization. You will be integral in cultivating and promoting a performance-driven environment including implementing employees development and talent management programs. You will be the business partner to all Managers of the business units and at the same time be a trusted HR partner to all employees, and act as a conduit between teams and the management in enhancing organization effectiveness through collaboration and overall performance. You will work closely with your HR team in the headquarters, to ensure alignment of practices and deployment of global projects and initiatives.
You would have about 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a human resource organization in a manufacturing environment. You would have good track record in organizational development and talent management, with expertise in recruitment, training and development, performance management and compensation and benefits, which are integral to this role. You would have strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to interact with leaders and people at all levels and age groups, of various nationalities and cultures. You would have strong ability to present thought provoking ideas, strategies and opportunities to business leaders and able to persuade and influence them collaboratively, to pursue specific strategies for the business. You are most comfortable playing an individual contributor role to the organization, providing advice and executing challenging actions across organizations by yourself by mobilizing local support during implementation. You would have managed improvement projects, that contribute to greater savings through efficiency for the company and driven change through a diverse team of people. You would have strong communication and negotiation skills.
